Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: 18 to 28mph Surf / Sea State: Flat, some chop Air Temperature: Warm Sea Temperature: Warm Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Took a days leave to sort out unpacking of boxes from the move to the new
house, but managed to build up enough brownie points in the morning to get
the OK for a session in the afternoon for a couple of hours or so. Just
powered on the 5.8 and Synchro with smaller fin when I went out, but as
time went on the wind picked up steadily, and most of the time it was a
perfect combination. Great blasting conditions, with plenty of opportunity
to try a few freestyle tricks among friends (about 7 or 8 people out). The
wind was really constant up by the golf course, and the water relatively
flat here, so most people sailed up to this part of the estuary, rather
than the gustier conditions and short, steep chop that built up near the
car park, particularly when the tide turned. All in all a very enjoyable
session.
